This antique toleware box was made in the 19th century and belonged to my mother’s mother’s family. There are ample visible scratches to the black surface of the box. Let’s just say it ain’t food safe. But it is a rare antique indeed. I have three. Presents better in person. Sturdy handle, but can’t carry around due to inability to secure lock, as the key is MIA. However, sitting somewhere, such as a table, this box is pretty neat given how ancient it is. And it stays shut thanks to gravity.
